Terminal Station System

Recent monorail designs can now incorporate point systems (or swithches) that would allow points to be set just before each terminal to allow in and out movement of trains. 

An alternative solution proposed by the Clyde Monorail Ltd is as shown in the attached sketch which shows that, in the station, there is only one monorail track section. This section is mounted on self propelled bogies that run at right angles to the track. When the train arrives at the station this section of track is aligned with the incoming train. When the train is stopped the track and train is moved across to align with the outgoing track. The passengers disembark  and new passengers are embarked. When the train leaves the track is moved back to the incoming position.
