Advanced Manufacturing Innovation District Scotland

This station would serve the new development which is predicted to have a workforce of 10,000

Renfrew Town

The population of Renfrew is 22,000 with no rail links. This station could also serve the Yoker and Scotstoun areas of Glasgow which are to be connected to Renfrew by a new Swing Bridge across the Clyde. The population of Yoker and Scotstoun is 13,000.

Braehead Shopping Centre

This is a large shopping and leisure complex with an annual footfall of 17 million. At present there is only road access to the Braehead complex.

Queen Elizabeth University Hospital

This is the largest hospital complex in Europe with 1,200 acute beds and a large number of Outpatient Departments. It has a staff of 12,000 and as a University Hospital has close links to Glasgow University and Caledonian University. There are only bus links to the complex.

Linthouse/ Clyde Waterfront Innovation Campus

This Station would serve the Linthouse community of 7,000 residents and the Campus with a predicted workforce of 1,000.


This station would serve the residents of the Fairfield district and the 1,000 workforce at Bae

Govan Cross

This station with a connection to the Glasgow Underground system would serve the south Clyde communities of Govan, Ibrox, Cessnock, Kinningpark and Tradeston. It would also through the Underground system serve the north Clyde communities of Partick, Hillhead and Kelvinside. The combined population of these communities is 50,000.

Govan Graving Docks

This station would serve any future development of the docks.

BBC/STV/SECC/Pacific Quay

This station would serve the SECC, the Hydro, the Armadillo Venue, the Science Centre, STV Studios and the BBC Complex. The SECC has over 1.5 million visitors per year. The Hydro Venue has 1 million visitors per year. The Science Centre has over 1 million visitors per year and the Clyde Auditorium (Armadillo) Venue has 500,000 visitors per year.

The Glasgow Quay

A leisure complex of restaurants, cinema, casino and hotel with over 500,000 visitors  per year.

The Barclays WorldTech Centre

A commercial office complex with a projected staff of 2500.
