High Level Bridge Detail
In a conventional cable stayed bridge design the mass of the deck on either side of the tower is sufficiently greater than the bridge traffic load to provide the necessary counter balancing load. In our proposal the deck will consist of standard sections of the monorail track joined to give the required span. This bridge deck will be relatively light and gives rise to the need for a counter balance weight which is provided by the next structural column. This approach to wide span sections is extremely cost effective.
Additional structural elements will be required to provide lateral stiffness to provide resistance to windage effects.
